Frequently asked questions

Some answers to your most frequently asked questions.

Our services

Why would I need a lawyer?

A lawyer’s assistance is useful at any moment (not just in the case of a conflit or a dispute). A laywer can help you start your business, advise you during contract negotiation, introduce you to other professionals (accountants, PR professionals, etc), and more. We personally see lawyers as business advisors who are there to help you grow your business, bring your projects to life and help you prevent unwanted situations.

What kind of clientele do you work with?

We work with a wide variety of clients, from sole entrepreneurs to established companies. Our clients do business in tech, fashion, music, comedy, infopreneurship, advertising, influencer marketing, content creation, and more. Not sure if we can help you? Contact us and we’d be more than happy to refer you to one of our partners if we cannot assist you.

I don't live in Montreal. Can I still get your services?

Absolutely! All of our services can be offered online (which is what we normally favour, knowing that our clients have busy schedules).

I want to sue someone / I am being sued. Can you help me?

We do not offer litigation services. However, do not hesitate to reach out to us if you’re looking for a law firm that does offer these services. We’ll be more than happy to refer you to one of our partners.

I'm looking for one or multiple professionals outside of the legal field. Can you help me?

Of course! Whether you’re looking for a CPA, a communications expert, a tax lawyer or accountant or an HR professional, we can introduce you to a wide variety of professionals in various fields. Just contact us

How are your services billed?

The majority of our services are billed on a fixed price basis, based on the scope of the mandate. Some of our services are billed on an hourly basis. If you have recurring legal needs, we can also offer services in the form of a monthly subscription, adapted to your particular needs.

Which types of payment do you accept?

We accept bank transfers, PayPal, credit card payments, as well as Interac transfers.

What's the difference between an initial meeting and a legal consultation?

Initial meetings allow us to learn more about our potential clients and their needs. They also allow our potential clients to ask questions about our services. These meetings are free and allow us to provide you with the information you need in order to decide whether or not you’d like to go forward with our services. No legal advice can be given during these meetings.

Legal consultations, on the other hand, are a service we offer. They are used in multiple ways by our clients: some seek our advice regarding a particular situation, others use consultations to learn more about a legal topic they’d like to master (or just get more comfortable with). Legal advice can be given during these billable consultations.

How much is a consultation?

Our legal consultations are billed at a rate of 100$+tx per 30 minutes.

Can I get a document reviewed during a consultation?

We do not offer contrat review services as a part of our consultations.

When we review contracts for our clients, we like to take the time to annotate them, to give suggestions on how to modify certain clauses, to show negotiation opportunities, and ultimately, to give you a new version of your agreement that you can use or, when applicable, send back to the party you’re negotiating with.

We therefore believe that propre contract review requires a certain type of attention that cannot be given during legal consultations.
